Wilma Rudolph

American athlete who received three precious metal medals in the 1960 Rome Olympics, successful the 100 m, 200 m, and 4 x 100 m relay, growing to be the 1st American female to collect three precious metal medals in track and field at an individual Games. She used braces on her behalf hip and legs until she was nine because of problems from infantile paralysis. She performed basketball in senior high school and 1st competed in the Olympics in 1956. She was called the AP’s Female Athlete of the entire year in 1960 and 1961 and it is an associate of the united states Olympic Hall of Popularity. She later worked well as a instructor. She experienced four kids with Robert Eldridge. She competed in the 1960 Olympics with Muhammad Ali.
