Appreciated particularly for his watercolor illustrations and paintings of women, this Scottish artist also caused tempera, oil paints, and designs and was useful for many years as an artist using the Illustrated London Current information. During the past due 1800s and early 1900s, he proved helpful being a lithographer’s apprentice and examined at both Heatherley’s Artwork School as well as the Royal Institute of Artwork. He was the initial leader of Great Britain’s Royal Watercolour Culture. He also illustrated a 1912 model of Geoffrey Chaucer’s The Canterbury Stories. Born and elevated in Edinburgh, Scotland, he journeyed broadly in Spain and eventually resolved in London, Britain. He made illustrations for the Savoy Operas, many W.S. Gilbert-written librettos which were established to music with the composer Arthur Sullivan.
