William Ernest Henley

United kingdom poet, editor, and literary critic whose best-known work is definitely his Victorian poem “Invictus.” His additional works add a poetry collection entitled In Medical center and a function of literary criticism known as Views and Evaluations. He experienced tuberculosis as a kid. The disease ultimately necessitated the amputation of the low part of his remaining leg. His girl, Margaret, passed away at age five and became the motivation for the type of Wendy in J.M. Barrie’s traditional children’s book Peter Skillet. He was wedded to Hannah Johnson Boyle, with whom he previously a girl. He was a pal of writer Robert Louis Stevenson. Stevenson, actually, centered his “Long John Metallic” personality upon Henley.
