William Dufty

An American writer and ghostwriter, he’s known for such works as Lady Sings the Blues (1956) and Sugar Blues (1975). The last mentioned work was converted to a 1972 film starring Diana Ross. He fought during Globe Battle II and eventually became a columnist for the brand new York Post. He was contracted being a ghostwriter for Billie Holiday’s autobiography, Female Sings the Blues. He was wedded to Gloria Swanson, who received help from him while composing her autobiography. He was a good friend of John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
