British actor, comedian and film director who appeared in lots of films through the 1930s. In 1942, he made an appearance in Head to Blazes as well as the Goose Techniques Out. He began training to become an engineer, but give up at age group 21 to begin with performing. He also examined astronomy and in 1932, became a Fellow from the Royal Astronomical Culture. He was wedded to Gladys Perkins from 1907 to 1935 plus they had three kids jointly. He starred with John Mills in the 1942 film, The Dark Sheep of Whitehall.
