Country musician and yodeler referred to as the daddy of Canadian nation music. He released singles including “Possess a Nice Time,” which charted at #27. After departing house at fifteen, he proved helpful being a lumberjack and sang with hobos in boxcars. He was inducted in to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Popularity in 1971, along with the Canadian Music Hall of Popularity in 1985. His dad was a Baptist Minister. He and Ridley Bent had been both Canadian nation music artists.
