Wendy Cope

Biography

English poet whose works include EASILY HAVE NO IDEA and Serious Issues. She received the Michael Braude Honor for Light Verse and was shortlisted for the exclusive Whitbread Honor. She taught main college for fifteen years before operating as an editor and critic. She published some of her poems from the idea of view of the imaginary male poet called Jake Strugnell. She and her wife — the Scottish poet Lachlan Mackinnon — relocated to the town of Ely in 2011. Her poetic design has been in comparison to that of Philip Larkin.
