Weegee

Austrian-born photographer most widely known for his 1930s, black-and-white images of NY crime scenes. He gained the nickname “Weegee” (following the well-known Ouija divination panel) for his uncanny capability to arrive at clean crime moments. He collaborated on movies with directors Jack port Donohue and Stanley Kubrick. He wedded writer Margaret Atwood in 1947. He inspired Joe Pesci ‘s personality in the 1992 film THE GENERAL PUBLIC Eye.
