Somali poet and teacher that has garnered worldwide acclaim for works like 2011’s Teaching My Mom How To Offer Delivery and 2015’s Her Blue Body. In 2013, she received Brunel University’s African Poetry Reward. She and her family members emigrated to the uk when she was a toddler. She created a enthusiasm for poetry as an adolescent after becoming a member of a youth golf club. In 2014, she was selected as Queensland, Australia’s poet in home. She’s siblings called Saaid, Samawado, Suban and Salma. Excerpt from her poetry was presented seriously in Beyonce’s 2016 visible album Lemonade.
