Warren Hastings


English-born politician who served as Governor-General of Bengal (India) through the 1770s and early 1780s. At age seventeen, he guaranteed are a clerk using the United kingdom East India Firm. He faced fees of governmental problem and was impeached in 1787 with the United kingdom Home of Commons. Ten years afterwards, he was acquitted of most charges. He was raised in Churchill, Oxfordshire, Britain. His mother passed away immediately after his delivery, and he and his dad resided in poverty for a lot of his youth. He went to London’s Westminster College, where he examined alongside British poet William Cowper.
