Probably one of the most influential poets in Angolan background and a fighter for Angolan self-reliance from Portugal. His best-known poems consist of “So Santo,” “Makezu,” and “Namoro.” He was among the co-founders of the favorite Movement for the Liberation of Angola in the 1960s. He spent the old age of his existence in politics exile in China. He grew up in the tiny city of Kkovu, Porto Amboim. He and fellow Angolan poet Mario Andrade had been key numbers in the favorite Movement for the Liberation of Angola.
