Vincenzo Peruggia

Italian legal who committed perhaps one of the most notorious art thefts ever when he stole the world-famous painting the Mona Lisa through the Louvre in August 1911. He was sentenced to 1 season and seventeen times in jail but ultimately offered just seven a few months for his criminal offense. He worked being a handyman and offered a short prison word for attempted robbery in 1908. He was captured after he attemptedto sell the Mona Lisa to memorial owner Alfredo Geri, who reported him to the authorities. His grandson, Silvio Peruggia, was highlighted within the 2012 documentary Mona Lisa can be Lacking. He was portrayed by Vito Scotti within a 1956 bout of the television show You IS THERE entitled “The Recovery of Mona Lisa.”
