The first female to try out major little league baseball, joining the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Sea Lions in the Negro Leagues in 1949; documented two RBIs in her first professional at bat. Getting started playing sandlot football around St. Paul, she quickly increased to try out semipro football. She was among three ladies who performed in the majors through the Negro Little league era. She wedded a guy 40 years more than her. It had been Jackie Robinson’s recognition that resulted in the decline from the Negro Little league, which employed her like a publicity stunt.
