Tomoyuki Yamashita

Imperial Japanese Military general in World Battle II, who conquered Malaya and Singapore and whose trial for war crimes established a legal precedent called the “Yamashita Regular.” In 1905, he graduated in the Imperial Japanese Military Academy and became second lieutenant. He attemptedto defend the Philippines from allied soldiers, but the break down of the string of communication resulted in the Manila Massacre. In 1916, he wedded Hisaki Nagayama. After getting sentenced to loss of life, he appealed for clemency to Leader Harry S. Truman, but his demand was denied.
