Tomas Rivera


A Chicano writer and poet, he wrote the award-winning Faulknerian novella, Con no se lo Trago la Tierra (1971). His various other works consist of This Migrant Globe (1987) as well as the Searchers: Gathered Poetry (1990). He examined British, Spanish, education, and background at Southwest Tx State School. He afterwards received his PhD in Love Languages in the School of Oklahoma. His book, And the planet earth DIDN’T Devour Him, was afterwards adapted right into a film. He was created in Tx to migrant employees Florencio and Josefa Rivera. He afterwards wedded Concepción Rivera, with whom he previously two daughters (Ileana and Irasema) along with a kid (Javie). He inspired the Chicano poet Ana Castillo.
