Eighteenth-century Scottish poet and picaresque novelist who famously wrote The Travels of Peregrine Pickle. His various other works are the Travels of Roderick Random as well as the Travels of Ferdinand Count number Fathom. He examined medicine on the School of Glasgow and eventually proved helpful in Jamaica being a physician. He considered AN ENTIRE History of Britain (created between 1757 and 1765) to become his most significant work. He wedded Nancy Lascelles in 1747. The few had one little girl. His work inspired the literary advancement of renowned writer Charles Dickens.
