Thomas C Lea III

Texas-born author and artist known for such southwestern-themed novels as THE BEAUTIFUL Country as well as the Fearless Bulls. His well-known murals consist of Southwest (shown in Un Paso, Tx) and Indigenous- American Wedding ceremony (shown in Chicago, Illinois). After graduating from Un Paso SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL in Tx, he studied on the Artwork Institute of Chicago. He received honorary doctorates from Southern Methodist College or university and Baylor College or university and was honored the 1992 Traditional western Authors of America Assocation’s Owen Wister Prize. He wedded his first wife, Nancy June Taylor, in 1927. Pursuing Taylor’s 1936 loss of life, he wedded second wife Sarah Catherine Beane. His 1954 painting, Rio Grande, was shown in The Light House’s Oval Workplace through the administration of Chief executive George W. Bush.
