Subhash Mukhopadhyay

Twentieth-century poet who revolutionized contemporary Bengali poetry using a debut collection entitled Padatik (The Feet Soldier). He graduated with honors in the Scottish Church University in Calcutta, where he examined idea. He was the receiver of India’s two most esteemed literary honors: the Sahitya Akademi Prize (1964) as well as the Jnanpith Prize (1991). He wedded fellow article writer Gita Bandyopadhyay. The few followed three daughters. He and iconic film movie director Satyajit Ray co-edited a children’s mag called Sandesh for quite some time.
