Stephen Decatur

American war hero who was simply a USA naval officer and Commodore known for several naval victories in the first 19th century. He was the initial post-Revolutionary Battle hero. He went to the Protestant Episcopal Academy and visited the School of Pennsylvania for the calendar year in 1795. Five U.S. Navy boats have been called USS Decatur honoring him. He wedded Susan Wheeler in 1806 plus they never had kids. Franklin D. Roosevelt urged the U.S. POSTOFFICE to concern postage stamps in his honor.
