Solomon Burke

Biography

R&B singer who all sang “Surely got to ENABLE YOU TO GET Off My Brain,” “Straight down within the Valley,” and “Everybody Requirements Somebody to Like.” Along with his family members running their very own cathedral, he became a gospel preacher and a bunch of the gospel radio display by age twelve. He performed for Pop John Paul II and was inducted in to the Stone Hall of Popularity in 2001. He was inspired by his mom, Josephine, a nurse, pastor-schoolteacher, and musician. He inspired a era of future spirit performers, including Isaac Hayes and Barry Light.

2Passed away while waiting to catch a flight at Schipol Airport in the Netherlands.
3Recorded the song "Tommorrow is Forever" with Dolly Parton for his 2006 CD, "Nashville". Parton was the composer of the song. Other duet partners on the project included Emmylou Harris, Patty Loveless, Nancy Griffith, and Gillian Welch
