Skip Williamson

Satirical cartoon artist who was simply a respected figure in the underground comix motion. He was especially known for his politics and satirical function as well as for his personality Snappy Sammy Smoot. He released his first toon in HELP! journal in 1961, among Harvey Kurtzman’s magazines, the editor which was Gloria Steinem. He obtained national recognition because of this toon after it had been heralded on “The Tonight Display” by comedian Dick Gregory. His function was shown in LA, New Orleans, NEW YORK, Philadelphia, and Chicago. He was presented with the nickname “Miss” by his grandmother. He was a longtime friend of Civil Privileges innovator Abbie Hoffman.
