Sid Abel

Hall of Popularity NHL middle who won 3 Stanley Cups using the Detroit Crimson Wings in 1943, 1950, and 1952. He was created in Saskatchewan and gained the nickname Aged Bootnose. He received the Hart Trophy as the NHL MVP in 1949. His grandson Brent Johnson performed goaltender for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was an associate of the Crimson Wings production collection with fellow Hall of Famer Gordie Howe.
