Shirley Kaufman

American poet known for Streams of Salt, Silver Country, THE GROUND Helps to keep Turning, and various other collections. She was a 1979 receiver of a Country wide Endowment for the Arts fellowship. She graduated in the School of California, LA in 1944. Her parents had been Polish immigrants who resolved in Seattle, Washington. She wedded Dr. Bernard Kaufman, Jr., with whom she acquired three kids. Her second hubby was Hillel Matthew Daleski. She and poet Jack port Gilbert attended SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA State University at exactly the same time.
