African-American poet, author, and educational who wrote The Peacock Poems and Functioning Cotton, among various other poetic and prose functions. She also released a nonfiction function entitled HAVING A BABY to Lighting: A Thematic Research in Neo-Black Books. She studied British at California Condition School in Fresno. Afterwards, she pursued graduate research at Brown School in Providence, Rhode Isle. She received a 1984 Fulbright offer that funded happen to be Ghana. She was raised with three sisters in the Fresno, California casing projects. Unfortunately, her father passed away of tuberculosis when she was simply eight years of age. She and poet Carla Harryman had been literary contemporaries and fellow Californians.
