Known for the 1000M period trial, he was a competitor in the 2008 Summer season Olympics in Beijing, his last main competition before pension. He first began cycling at age group five, and he was a junior kilo champion in the Australian Country wide Monitor Championships. He received three Olympic medals: metallic in 1992 (1000M period trial), bronze in 2000 (100M period trial), and bronze in 2004 (Keirin). He was created in Ararat, Victoria, Australia. In 2008 he became a member of a summary of Australians in the Olympics that included NBA middle Andrew Bogut.
