Shams al-Baroudi

Egyptian actress who became an icon of Egyptian and Lebanese cinema through the 1960’s and 70’s. A few of her best-known movies include 1966’s THE MARRIAGE Evening and 1971’s Pleasure and Struggling. She attended the bigger Institute of Dramatic Arts in Cairo and produced her film performing debut in 1961’s Employed Hubby. In 1982, she unexpectedly retired from performing through the filming of Two on the highway and started donning the hijab. She was wedded to Saudi prince Khalid bin Saud before marrying professional Hassan Youssef in 1972. She and Shadia are both well-known Egyptian stars.
