He is among the inaugural players to become awarded a Cricket Scotland agreement, and it has captained Scotland in international play. He started his professional profession – both domestically and abroad – while surviving in South Africa, before shifting to Scotland when he was 23. In 2003, while playing for Glenrothes, he achieved the amazing feat of striking a century away from only 43 balls. He was created in Salisbury, Rhodesia. On the 2007 World Glass he captained Scotland against South Africa and rival captain Graeme Smith.
