Rumer Godden

The British writer of An Bout of Sparrows, she actually is also known for works like the Greengage Summer season and In This Home of Brede. Many of her books were modified into movies. Her father worked well for a shipping and delivery business, and she and her three sisters spent a big part of their years as a child in English Colonial India. She changed into Catholicism in 1968. Many of her literary functions, including Five for Sorrow, Ten for Pleasure, deal with spiritual themes. She got an unhappy relationship to Laurence Foster, with whom she got two daughters. Later on in her existence, she married Wayne Haynes Dixon. Her 1946 book, The River, was converted to a 1951 film aimed by Jean Renoir .
