Rosalind Plowright

Well known on her behalf roles in British National Opera productions of Othello, Salome, as well as the Convert of the Screw, this British soprano can be well-known for performing with Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti in productions of Il Trovatore, Expire Walkure, and Aida in London’s Royal Opera House, Covent Backyard. After training on the London Opera Center with Manchester’s Royal North University of Music, she was ensemble as Agathe within a 1975 Glyndebourne Touring Opera creation of Der Freischutz. Afterwards in her profession, she became a mezzo-soprano and debuted at New York’s Metropolitan Opera within a 2003 staging of composer Leos Janacek’s Jenufa. In 2007, she gained a Grammy Prize for her functionality as Gertrude within a recording from the Engelbert Humperdinck opera Hansel and Gretel. She spent her start in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, Britain, and later resolved in Salisbury. She and fellow British opera vocalist Janet Baker sang the particular assignments of Elizabeth I and Mary, Queen of Scots within an acclaimed documenting of Gaetano Donizetti’s opera Maria Stuarda.
