Ron Hansen

An American fiction writer and essayist, he’s most widely known for such Western-themed novels as Desperadoes as well as the Assassination of Jesse James with the Coward Robert Ford. The last mentioned function was a finalist for the Pencil/Faulkner Award. He gained an M.F.A. in the famed Iowa Authors’ Workshop and eventually attended Stanford School on the Wallace Stegner Fellowship. He trained literature and innovative composing at Santa Clara School. He was raised in Omaha, Nebraska. He wedded fellow article writer, Bo Caldwell. His 1983 book, The Assassination of Jesse Adam with the Coward Robert Ford, was converted to a film starring Brad Pitt.
