Robert Patterson

Jazz drummer also called Rashied Ali. He was an associate of John Coltrane’s music group. He served within the U.S. Military and performed in armed forces bands. He documented a song known as “Likely to the Ritual” with bassist Henry Grimes. He provides three children along with his wife Patricia, and his boy Muhammad was also a drummer. He, Charles Gayle, and William Parker collaborated in the 1993 record Touchin’ on Trane.
