Known for his orchestral, blowing wind symphony, chamber ensemble, percussion, and choral items, this New York-born composer, conductor, and percussionist wrote such acclaimed functions as Electric Lines, Quintus, and String Quartet Simply no. 1. After learning structure and percussion in the Eastman College of Music, he gained advanced levels in music structure from Indiana University or college and Cornell University or college. He founded a fresh York City-based traditional music group known as the American Contemporary Ensemble. He was raised in Buffalo, NY as the child of visual performers Tony and Eleanor Paterson. He later on settled in NEW YORK along with his violinist wife, Victoria, as well as the couple’s child, Dylan. During his university years, he analyzed with traditional composer Samuel Adler.
