British explorer who led two expeditions to Antarctica. On his second trip, the Terra Nova Expedition, he and his fellow explorers perished immediately after going to the South Pole. He started his naval profession at age group thirteen after moving entry examinations for america Navy. His effective Antarctic voyage, the Finding Expedition, occurred through the 1st five many years of the twentieth hundred years. His relationship to designer Kathleen Bruce created a child, Peter Markham Scott, who became both a painter and an ornithologist. He attemptedto be the 1st person to attain the South Pole, but Roald Amundsen reached the positioning 1st.
