Robert E. Howard

American author known for pioneering the “sword and sorcery” subgenre as well as for creating the type Conan the Barbarian. He was an amateur boxer along with a bodybuilder in his teenage years. He also had written in additional genres, including horror and westerns. He dedicated suicide after his mom, whom he adored, moved into an irreversible coma. He was seriously influenced from the functions of horror pioneer H.P. Lovecraft.
