Ria Hall

A favorite Maori singer in New Zealand, her music affects result from reggae, hiphop, and spirit. She was also a tv presenter on Maori TV’s AIA Marae DIY from 2012 to 2013. Her self-titled, debut EP gained Best Maori Record on the 2012 New Zealand Music Honours. She performed the Maori executing arts design Kapa Haka from early youth and became a member of the Kapa Haka group Waka Huia. After her proceed to Wellington, she is at a reggae music group called Hope Street that she founded in 2006. She was the business lead singer on the starting ceremonies from the 2011 Rugby Globe Cup. She actually is of Ngāi Te Rangi and Ngāti Ranginui descent and can be an activist for aboriginal understanding issues. She was raised in Maungatapu with her three old sisters. She collaborated on Australian Idol champion Stan Walker’s 2013 one “Like It’s Over.”
