Pierre Louys

Important French poet from the symbolism movement and known for erotic literary works featuring lesbian themes. His functions consist of La Femme et le pantin (THE GIRL as well as the Puppet) and Le crepuscule des nymphes (The Twilight from the Nymphs). While their studies at the Ecole Alsacienne in Paris, he became close with potential Nobel Reward laureate Andre Gide. His assortment of erotic prose poems, Tracks of Bilitis, became the foundation for the name of 1 from the United Areas’ first lesbian companies, The Daughters of Bilitis. He was created Pierre Felix Louis and started spelling his last name as Louys in 1890. His Tracks of Bilitis had been arranged to music by his composer friend, Claude Debussy.
