Phil O’Donnell

Scottish soccer layer who tragically died from cardiac arrest throughout a game for Motherwell in 2007. He was a two-time Scottish PFA Youthful Player of the entire year award-winner, getting the award in 1992 and 1994. He was created in North Lanarkshire and produced his professional debut with Motherwell in 1990. Pursuing his death, the primary Stand at Fir Recreation area was renamed The Phil O’Donnell Stand. A stainless monument was also erected in his honor in November 2011. He was survived by his wife, Eileen, and four kids. His nephew, David Clarkson, also performed for Motherwell and was the initial participant to don to #10 shirt that O’Donnell famously used.
