Swiss-born watercolor artist and illustrator known for his Local American-themed artwork. His best-known paintings consist of Hunting the Buffalo, Battle dance from the Sauks and Foxes, and Within a Epidermis Tent. He founded a St. Louis-based artwork studio room in the past due 1920s. Early in his profession, he created newspaper and reserve illustrations. His paintings and drawings often depicted the Sioux, Cree, and Anishinaabe folks of Canada and America. He resided in Switzerland before age group of fifteen, of which stage he emigrated along with his family members to Canada. He afterwards resided in Wisconsin and Missouri. He and Arizona-born musician R.C. Gorman both became known because of their Indigenous American-themed paintings.
