Pertti Karppinen

Finnish rower who received three Olympic precious metal medals in the solitary scull event in the 1976, 1980, and 1984 Olympics. He joined his first Olympics in 1976, where he started his string of three directly golds in the solitary scull event. He competed in the 1988 and 1992 Olympics but didn’t earn a medal. His child Eeva Karppinen rowed at California University or college. He won platinum in the 1984 Olympics where runner Carl Lewis received his first platinum medal.
