He went to the School of NEW YORK at Chapel Hill on the wrestling scholarship or grant, where he became an undefeated Atlantic Coastline Conference wrestling champ. He was the just Senator facing reelection to vote against the congressional authorization for the battle in Iraq in 2002. His wife, Sheila, and his little girl, Marcia, passed away with him in the 2002 airplane crash. He was buried the same cemetery where Vice Leader Hubert H. Humphrey was interred.
