Paul Gonsalves

Jazz tenor saxophonist who have helped revitalize Duke Ellington’s sluggish profession in the 1950s. He performed the Newport Jazz Celebration to great acclaim. He began using the Sabby Lewis Orchestra at a age after getting encourage to execute folk tracks by his family members. Gonsalves, Ellington, and trombonist Tyree Glenn had been positioned side-by-side in the same NY funeral home once they all passed on. He grew up by Cape Verdean parents beyond Boston. He performed with in Count number Basie’s big music group from 1947 to 1949.
