Paul Desmond

Jazz musician and songwriter who all played alto saxophone for the Dave Brubeck Quartet and penned the group’s 1959 strike tune “Take Five.” He was a prominent person in the post-World Battle II “great jazz” motion. As a kid, he performed the violin as well as the clarinet. He discovered to try out the alto saxophone during his first season at SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA State University. He offered a three-year term in america Army. His mom suffered from emotional complications, and he spent the majority of his youth living with expanded family in NEW YORK. He and Artwork Blakey both produced important efforts to jazz music.
