19th century Russian astronomer and person in the Russian Academy of Sciences who did a whole lot of essential work compiling stellar coordinates and measured the rings of Saturn. He analyzed at the University or college of St. Petersburg in the 1840s. He led the Pulkovo Observatory from 1862 to 1889. His dad, Friedrich Georg Wilhelm von Struve, was also a prominent Russian astronomer. He was created in the same nation as astronomer Ernst Opik.
