Oscar Micheaux

Writer and screenwriter who have wrote the book, The Conquest, which he later on adapted in to the screenplay for The Homesteader, a silent film. His various other films, which concentrate on the lives of dark Americans, include IN YOUR Gates (1920) as well as the Conjure Girl (1926). He proved helpful being a waiter in Chicago in his past due teens. Afterwards, after doing work for a significant railroad company for a while, he became a homesteader in South Dakota. A few of his first work was released with the Chicago Defender. His dad was created into slavery in Kentucky, and Micheaux and his twelve siblings was raised on a plantation in Metropolis, Illinois. He afterwards wedded Orlean McCracken. His book, The Homesteader, was focused on Booker T. Washington.
