Nina Mae McKinney

She was among the first African-American film stars in america and Britain and starred within the 1929 film Hallelujah! She’d perform antics on her behalf bicycle as a kid and acted in college takes on. She was called ‘The Dark Garbo’ in mention of Greta Garbo due to her beauty. She was wedded to Jazz musician, Jimmy Monroe from 1935 to 1938. She co-starred with acting professional Paul Robeson within the 1935 film Sanders from the River.
