Vocalist, rapper, and songwriter whose tune “Buffalo Position” was #3 in the U.K. Singles Graph. Employed in punk and funk in her start, she went single rapping in London nightclubs. She was nominated for the Grammy Prize for Greatest New Musician in 1990, but dropped to Milli Vanilli. The earning duo then got their award revoked because of a lip-syncing scandal. She was created in Stockholm, Sweden, elevated by her adoptive dad Don Cherry, an American jazz musician, and her mom, a painter and visible artist. She’s three kids who all became music artists in their very own correct, Mabel, Naima and Tyson. She released popular duet with Michael Stipe known as “Trout,” which became a mainstay on university radio stations.
