Irish Australian outlaw who became a folk hero while fighting with each other against the corrupt government and the authorities. He became referred to as the Australian Robin Hood. He was wrongly accused of the criminal offense and after a shootout that still left several policemen useless, and fled towards the Australian bushland. In his outlaw times, he raided metropolitan areas and robbed banking institutions, prompting the federal government to offer a big prize for his catch – useless or alive. He was raised within an Irish Catholic family members, which became the building blocks for his embitterment against the United kingdom. His tale was popularized in the 2003 film Ned Kelly, starring Heath Ledger.
