Natalie DuToit

Paralympian swimmer who competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, starting to be the 1st amputee to ever be eligible for the Olympics. She was a competitive swimmer as an adolescent before having her calf amputated in 2001; she was going swimming again in only 90 days. She earned five yellow metal medals in the 2004 Summer season Paralympics and retired following the 2012 Paralympics. She was created in Cape City, South Africa. Her uplifting story, combined with the dominance of Michael Phelps, brought going swimming towards the forefront from the 2008 Summer season Olympics.
