Biography

Olympic wrestler turned personality acting professional who played wrestlers and additional muscle-bound functions in Hollywood movies from the ’30s and ’40s. Included in these are THE FANTASTIC Ziegfeld, In the Circus, and Equine Feathers, which presented the Marx Brothers. A champ wrestler from his university days at Columbia, he received the metallic medal using the U.S. Olympic group in 1920, and received the World Tournament as a specialist wrestler in 1924. Getting into Hollywood in the first 1930s, he proceeded to go from uncredited parts to main parts in Dr. Kildare and Buck Privates. He was created in Davenport, Iowa, and wedded double. Richard Chamberlain starred in the film series, Dr. Kildare alongside Pendleton.
