Palestinian-American poet and author known for VARIOUS WAYS to Pray, Yellowish Glove, Hugging the Jukebox, and various other poetry collections. Her literary honors are the Paterson Poetry Award and many Pushcart Awards. She researched at Trinity College or university and produced San Antonio, Tx her house. She published VARIOUS WAYS to Pray, her debut poetry collection, in 1980. She received the 2013 Neustadt Award for Children’s Books. She wedded Michael Nye and she’s a son called Madison.
